The John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum is currently seeking a diverse group of volunteer docents for the next 2-month training course which will begin in September 2017. Prospective docents are encouraged to attend an information session on Saturday, March 25, 2017, 10:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m. Email to register for the session.

Applicants must be at least 21 years old, have an interest in working with people, and be able to attend required training sessions. Experience or education in history, political science, or teaching is helpful, but is not required. The position involves standing for extended periods of time.

Training is provided by education and curatorial staff, and includes historical content of the museum and interpretive techniques such as storytelling, asking good questions and other methods for engaging various museum audiences. After training is complete, the volunteer commitment is one year.
